Mi A1 was launched by Xiaomi back in September 2017, it’s a budget device sporting dual camera setup and stock Android experience. Though Xiaomi delayed the release of Kernel Source for the device still our good devs at XDA continued the development even without the kernel sources as of now the kernel sources are out and development is gaining speed!
There are lot’s of ROMs already available for Mi A1 but most of them are based on 7.1.2 Nougat because Xiaomi only released sources for nougat. Now a working build of LineageOS 15.1 is available for the MI A1 based on Android 8.1.0:
LineageOS 15.1 for MI A1:
LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 8 (oreo), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
